Monday January 10th
I have had a disastrous day. It all started when I tried to kiss Pandora Braithwaite. I thought she liked me because she gave me a smile in the corridor at school today. I felt confident, so I asked her if she wanted to come over to my house to watch television. She said yes. We were sitting on the sofa watching a program about whales when I decided to make my move. I leaned in to kiss her, but I misjudged the distance and ended up headbutting her nose. Pandora screamed and ran out of the house. I felt like such a fool. My first kiss was an utter disaster.
To make matters worse, my parents overheard the commotion and came rushing into the room. They were shocked to see Pandora running away in tears and me sitting on the sofa looking bewildered. I tried to explain what happened, but they just shook their heads in disappointment.
I don't know how I am going to face Pandora at school tomorrow. She probably thinks I am a complete idiot now. I wish I could turn back time and redo that moment. But I know that is impossible. I will just have to live with the embarrassment and hope that someday I can make it up to her somehow. Today has been one of the worst days of my life.
