  5. It wasn't all judgement though - there were those who felt empathy for her belated arrival, conveying this through suppressed smiles or comforting touches as they watched her hurried journey towards the town square.
  6. The village elders exchanged pointed glances with each other while the younger members of the community boldly stepped up to gawk and crane their necks for a clear view of the spectacle.
