Suffers memory loss during mission from "summary" of Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir

During the mission, I started losing my memory. It wasn't a gradual decline, more like flicking off a light switch. One moment everything was crystal clear, the next, it was like trying to remember a dream. I'd be in the middle of a task and suddenly draw a blank, not knowing what I was supposed to do next. It was disorienting, to say the least. At first, I tried to push through it, hoping it was just a momentary lapse. But as time went on, it became clear that this was something more serious. I would forget important details, like the exact calculations I needed to make or the steps I had taken to solve a problem. It was like trying to navigate a maze with half of the map missing. The worst part was not knowing when it would happen. One moment I would be fine, the next I would be struggling to remember my own name. It made every task a challenge, turning simple tasks into Herculean efforts. I had to constantly rely on notes and reminders to keep me on track, a far cry from the sharp mind I once prided myself on. As the mission progressed, the memory loss only seemed to get worse. It was like my brain was fighting against me, erasing crucial information at the most inconvenient times. I felt like I was losing a part of myself with each forgotten detail, like trying to hold onto sand slipping through my fingers. Despite all the setbacks, I refused to give up. I knew that every forgotten memory was a step closer to failure, but I also knew that I had to keep pushing forward. The fate of not just myself, but the entire mission, rested on my shoulders. And even if my memory failed me, my determination never wavered.
