Authenticity is key to freedom from "summary" of Philosophy of Freedom by Rudolf Steiner

The path to true freedom begins with being authentic. When we are authentic, we are in alignment with our true selves, our innermost thoughts, feelings, and desires. This authenticity is the key to unlocking the chains that bind us, preventing us from living a life of true freedom. When we are authentic, we are able to act in accordance with our own individuality, without being swayed by external influences or societal expectations. We are able to make decisions that resonate with our own values and beliefs, rather than conforming to the expectations of others. This autonomy allows us to express our true selves and live a life that is in harmony with our own nature. Inauthenticity, on the other hand, is a barrier to freedom. When we are not true to ourselves, when we act in ways that are inauthentic to who we truly are, we become enslaved by the expectations of others. We lose touch with our own inner voice, our own sense of self, and become mere puppets, dancing to the tune of society's demands. To break free from this bondage, we must strive for authenticity in all that we do. We must listen to our own inner voice, trust our own instincts, and have the courage to be true to ourselves, even when it goes against the grain. Only then can we experience true freedom, freedom from the constraints of society, freedom to be who we truly are. Authenticity is not always easy. It requires courage, honesty, and a willingness to stand apart from the crowd. But the rewards are great. When we are authentic, we are free to be ourselves, to live a life that is true to who we are at our core. And in this freedom, we find the truest expression of our humanity.
