Reminiscing about friendships and adventures from "summary" of M Train by Patti Smith
As I sit in my favorite café, sipping black coffee and staring out the window, my mind drifts back to the friendships and adventures of days gone by. Memories come flooding back, like old friends knocking on the door of my consciousness, eager to be let in and relived.
I think of the friends I've lost touch with, scattered to the winds like leaves in autumn. We used to spend hours talking about art, music, and literature, our passion and curiosity binding us together in a tight-knit circle. How I miss those late-night conversations, where every word felt like a revelation and every idea sparked a new adventure.
And then there were the adventures we embarked on, reckless and wild, fueled by a thirst for experience and a sense of invincibility. We would hop on trains to nowhere, sleep under the stars, and dance until the sun came up, our laughter echoing through the night like a symphony of joy.
But time has a way of changing things, of pulling people apart and scattering them like seeds in the wind. Life gets in the way, responsibilities pile up, and the carefree days of youth slip through our fingers like grains of sand. Yet, in these quiet moments of reflection, I can't help but smile at the memories we created and the bonds we forged.
So I raise my cup of coffee to those friendships and adventures, to the moments that shaped me and the people who walked beside me on this journey called life. May their spirits live on in my heart, forever cherished and never forgotten.
