The legendary leader Bhagat Singh was arrested for the murder of British Police Officer Saunders in the year 1928. His arrest sparked outrage among the Indian people and he was later hailed as a hero for his revolutionary actions.- In April 1929, a young man called Saunders was killed in broad daylight outside the VC Court in Lahore. Several days later, the police arrested Bhagat Singh and his two accomplices Raj Guru and Sukhdev Thapar for the murder of Saunders.
