Eat Pray Love is a 2006 memoir by American author Elizabeth Gilbert. The memoir chronicles the author's trip around the world after her divorce and what she discovered during her travels. She spends the first third of the book in Italy, learning about the art of pleasure and the power of nourishment by enjoying the Italian lifestyle. She then moves to India to learn about the power of prayer and to strengthen her spiritual side. Finally, she travels to Bali, Indonesia, to learn about the power of love and to explore her relationships with other people. Along the way, she faces many challenges and learns valuable lessons about herself and the world.
